ABOUT

You actually made it to this section on the site? GREAT! Not that we would doubt your curiosity and ability to read, but with so many blow-your-mind stories, videos and photo-ops, we want to know how you made it to our boring “About Us” page? It was such a mundane thing for you to do. Don’t you think?

But since you are here, we will give you a little something.

Journey has been an invaluable part of the School of Journalism & Graphic Communication for more than 25 years. We do not necessarily conform to the cookie- cutter news blast of our newspaper neighbors, the FAMUan, and we’re nothing like the basement junkies, TV 20, who are challenged by the archaic video camera and teleprompter.

Journey is interested in providing new-age media. Reaching our readers where they can most often be found; whether that’s between classes perusing the latest issue of Journey magazine or in the comfort of their rooms staring at a computer screen.

This student-run magazine provides the ins and outs of Tallahassee’s young urban lifestyle, campus events, the latest fashion trends and the who’s who on the Hill. Let’s not forget our award-winning print publication, which never fails the campus in content delivery. Earlier this year, our very own editor-in-chief snagged the first place win for “Best Magazine Writer” at the Southeast Journalism Conference, and our former art director took home the first place prize for “Best Magazine Page Layout Designer.” From stories about modern day slavery, atheism and exclusive celebrity interviews, Journey is sure to keep our readers in tune with the latest.

Always mixing it up and challenging ourselves to make you proud, we find a way to do it with sarcasm, quirkiness and a small dose of tact. We encourage reader participation, and when you feel Journey is not providing you with the best, reach out and put your two cents in.
