Yummy’s Daiquiri Bar Celebrates their 1-year anniversary in the capitol city

Kiya Daye

Yummy’s Daiquiri Bar shakes Tallahassee’s food and nightlife scene with bold drinks, Southern hospitality, and a splash of New Orleans charm. Known for its colorful daiquiris and soul food favorites, the bar has quickly become a go-to spot for locals craving flavor and fun.

The location was home to Crabs on the Run, a seafood restaurant launched by Shanya Green in March 2021. After closing in Crabs on the Run in February 2025, March of that same year, Shanya and her brother, Damon “Teddy” Green, opened Yummy’s, blending their shared passion for food and community.

The sibling duo marked the occasion with food, music, and strong community support, setting the tone for what has become one of the city’s most talked-about spots.

Teddy, a retired Navy veteran who served 14 years, is now helping manage daily operations; he brings energy and heart to every shift.

Teddy’s go-to meals are fried catfish and fried shrimp combos, aligning with his pescatarian lifestyle.

Yummy’s specializes in cocktails, catering, and events, and is especially loved for its signature daiquiris.

One of the most popular dishes overall is the smothered pork chop dinner, succulent meat over rice, with baked mac and cheese, fried cabbage, and sweet cornbread.

Customer reviews consistently praise Yummy’s for its food, drinks, music, and friendly service; many call the experience immaculate.

Takeira Lewis is a repeat customer of Yummy’s who expresses why she continues to visit the restaurant.

“Yummy’s is somewhere I frequent, because the food is always consistent and reminds me of a good home-cooked meal,” said Lewis.

Yummy’s continues to evolve as it adds new specialty drinks and menu items.

Teddy says, “What I enjoy the most is making people smile and working alongside my sister.” The hardest part, he adds, “is losing employees who become like family.”

While Yummy’s is known for its amazing food, its daiquiris are a fan favorite as well.

Kiana Robinson, a Tallahassee native, shares how Yummy’s drinks are something that the city of Tallahassee has long needed.

“They have so many fun flavors. The concept is something you see in other cities, and I’m glad we now have it right here in Tallahassee,” said Robinson.

In the past year, Shanya has moved to Vietnam while still managing to run her restaurant, crediting Teddy and the lead chef, Perry “Uncle P” Wilson, for their key role in keeping the restaurant open.

Yummy’s is more than a bar; it’s a cultural staple built on family, flavor, and care.
