Love & Relationships Poetry: Love
By: journeymagazine
Words by: Vonkeisha Gibson
The tides were far too high, we waited too long to address the rising waters
On the edge, waiting on you to say something
Or at least signal me to disappear….save myself
We’ll both drown here together, I heard you say it…you didn’t have to say it
I’ll only find you help if you do things my way…I heard you say it.. you didn’t have to say it
Every memory restive, saturating my spirit with guilt of ever reverencing you
I wanted you, you wanted TWO
Waters rising getting deeper, only to expose your fish in the sea
In any event, even when the fish were plenty
I wanted your Love to choose me
