Boutiques Options for Fall Grads

The last day for Florida A&M University students to order a cap and gown without excess charges is Oct 21, according to a notice by Herff Jones, the supplier of students graduation gear. If the ladies are looking for the perfect pieces to wear under their gown or to complete the look for their grad images, these local Tallahassee boutiques may have what they need.

Walter Green

Located on Thomasville Road, Walter Green is a retail boutique store that has been open for over two years specializing in casual and bohemian wear for women .

According to sales attendant Sara Bergida, graduation brings in an array of customers searching for different looks for their ceremony. The color white is a popular pick for grads.

“It’s pretty normal for people to wear white to their graduation, but some ladies ask for bright colors asimage2 well, which has actually been very popular .”

Bergida also noted that grads should avoid overly long dresses under their gown, to avoid tripping or any mishaps and stick to something short such as their all white cape dress for only $30.

In addition, the retail boutique also carries women’s shoes and accessories that are affordable for college students.

The store also has a “gradimage3uation rack” that has an assortment of dresses ideal for the special occasion.

Walter Green is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m to 7 p.m and from noon to 5 p.m on Sundays.
Fab’rik

Located on Thomasville Road, Fab’rik is a women’s retail store that sells clothing so unique, that they only carry six pieces of each item.

According to store owner who simply goes by Alana, Fa’brik takes pride in the exclusivity of their clothing.

“Our goal is to keep everything ‘on trend’, and therefore we do no restock items unless they are staple pieces…We are unique in that way, once items are gone, they are gone.”image1

Alana then continued to express that many women who come into the store for graduation want exclusive pieces that they won’t see on others at graduation.

“Students love that our pieces are exclusive. All of our pieces are unique to Tallahassee and everything is under $100.”

Fa’brik whose name is a play on the word fabric has a large quantity of unique dresses, skirts and blouses that would complete any graduation look. They are ope n seven days a week from 10 a.m to 7 p.m and close at 5 p.m on Sunday.

Hellena Lahens, a first-year Urban Planning graduate student of FSU, believes that graduation wouldn’t be complete without the ideal outfit .

“For graduation I wanted to wear something simple like a chic dress. Walter Green was timage5he place for me to grab last minute finds .”

If students haven’t gotten their graduation outfit yet , they should stop by either one of these fabulous boutiques before their memorable milestone.
