A few brothers are missing out this Valentine’s Day, as Zula Reina Oliveira is a catch that many people have been sleeping on.
Zula is a third-year political science student minoring in international relations from Morristown, New Jersey, through Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She is very active on campus as she allows her confidence to guide her through her endeavors. She is very intrigued with modeling and loves to display her eye-catching glam to the audience as she is part of the Uproar Modeling Team. She also previously participated in the Miss Black and Gold pageant, where she was crowned as Miss Beta Nu for the 2022-2023 academic school year.
Zula is a true breath of fresh air; she loves to see other people happy and holds herself to a standard to ensure that she is very friendly and genuine to everyone she comes around. She desires in her future partner a person who can complement her and allow her to be her true self.
“I look for a natural born leader. Someone who is gentle and kind but absolutely hilarious. Someone loving who can match my energy.”
Over her life, Zula has had trials and tribulations when it comes to relationships, and it has allowed her to understand what is required for a relationship to truly last. She believes you have to be willing to adapt to your partner and sometimes let go of things you previously did.
“I believe for a relationship to be truly functional and successful, both partners should be equally yoked, God-fearing, and willing to make sacrifices. I believe love is all about sacrifices,” Oliveira said.
Her knowledge of real love also comes from her musical taste, as some of her favorite songs are Greatest Love by Ciara, Hrs, and Hrs by Muni Long and The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra. She loves the Ciara classic due to the beauty she sees in the relationship between her and Russell Wilson. Her love for Hrs and Hrs comes from her genuinely resonating with the emotions Muni Long expresses in her song. Then she loves the throwback Frank Sinatra as she grew up on his music like a true Jersey girl.
As a political science student, Oliveira has strived to allow her voice and her fellow peers to be heard. She is a member of the FAMU College Democrats and the J.W Hatchett Pre-Law Society, and she also volunteers through Florida Future Leaders to help students register to vote. After FAMU, she plans to attend law school, where she aspires to have a political career in Washington, D.C.
Oliveira is manifesting for her future boo, but while she is patiently waiting, she will focus on loving herself for the holiday. Zula plans to make herself a steak and kick back with a glass of wine while she watches her favorite rom-coms. Zula Oliveira is a naturally beautiful soul, and with patience and faith in God she knows that her prince in shining armor is bound to cross her path.
