Ladies and gentlemen, class is in session!
This is not your typical class, on the contrary. This is not college algebra. This is not language skills. This is not color photography, well wait… the two do have some similarities.
This is FAMULY101!
Meet Kemar Daley, a junior transfer psychology major from Miami, Florida.
This Florida A&M student has had a passion for photography his entire life, but didn’t start his own business until December 2012.
Daley originally wanted to be a model, but he went to a modeling agency and they turned him down. This caused him to try photography and he has been in love with it ever since.
In his best words, he described FAMULY101 as, “a bio page that is based on the campus of Florida A&M University.” He continued, “It is a page for new, current and alumni students to get to know people that are featured on the page to know about the person and to see how similar someone you pass everyday may be to you.”
The sharp shooter has two main weapons in his arsenal. Daley uses his t6s or his original camera, which gets the job done as well, the t4i.
He admits to shooting his personal favorite shoot using the t6, ‘The Black Goddess’ shoot, which he shot back in 2016.
The FAMU photographer has done collaborations with unknown photographers on the rise, and wants to do a few more with the top names on campus.
In pursuit of his most desired camera, the 6D Mark II, Daley plans to shoot some of his best photographs of his career.
When asked what advice he would give to up and coming photographers, Kemar had this to say, “Keep your consistency, make a goal for yourself and exceed it. You are your own competition and always try to do what others haven’t done.”
