“Being together has taught me patience, honest communication, and a willingness to grow side by side,” said Bailey.
Derrick’s personality reflects balance. He’s someone who enjoys both movement and mindfulness whether that’s gaming to unwind, thrifting for unique finds or staying active by playing basketball.
“Watching sports isn’t just for entertainment for me; it’s an inspiration,” said Bailey.
Sports have always been a constant in his life, shaping not only how he spends his time, but how he sees discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.
That lifelong connection to athletics is what fuels Derrick’s academic and career goals. His passion for sports and helping others has guided him toward a path in sports physical therapy. For Derrick, it’s about more than the game; it’s about supporting athletes through recovery, strengthening their bodies, and helping them return better than before.
There’s also a defining moment that solidified this path.
“During my senior year high school, my anatomy teacher encouraged me to commit to physical therapy, a push that changed everything,” said Bailey.
That moment of belief stuck with him, and he hasn’t looked back since. It’s a reminder of how mentorship and encouragement can shape a future; something Derrick now hopes to offer others in his own career.
As Derrick celebrates this season alongside Loren, he does so with gratitude and excitement.
