Jordyn Anderson has been involved in a variety of organizations since becoming a student on the Hill, leaving her mark through leadership, service and intentional connection. She currently serves as membership co-chair for SISTUHS Inc., is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., and is the president of Exchange and more. While her titles reflect her involvement, Anderson believes they do not fully capture who she is.
Anderson, a third-year business administration student, is proud to call Tampa, Florida, home. As the oldest sister to four younger brothers, she identifies most strongly as a protector, a role that has shaped how she leads and loves.
She originally planned to major in political science due to her interest in attending law school, but quickly realized she did not need to limit herself to one path. After learning that law schools do not require a political science degree, she began exploring other academic options that led her to SBI. It provided her with the structure and opportunity to grow, thrive and prepare for life after graduation.
“I have always admired student leaders who were able to balance academics, leadership and personal growth,” Anderson said.
That admiration motivated her to remain active on campus, just as she had been throughout high school. For Anderson, involvement was not just about holding positions but about forming meaningful relationships. Getting involved allowed her to connect with students outside of her major and broaden her understanding of FAMU’s campus and community. Those qualities also made her a natural applicant for FAMU’s Finest, where confidence, poise and substance are celebrated.
While Anderson remains open to love, she acknowledges that this season of her life is centered on growth. She shared that now is not the ideal time for her love life to fully flourish, but she looks forward to it when the timing is right.
Her ideal date is a masterclass of intentionality and quality time. It is a full day experience that kicks off with brunch, her favorite meal, followed by a trip to Disney World. “But only if the weather is 75 degrees or below”. The day would end with a Hibachi dinner and a handwritten letter.

Looking beyond FAMU, Anderson envisions a future rooted in stability and self-investment. She hopes to graduate with a full-time job offer, ideally earning six figures. She credits the School of Business for preparing her for that reality through its academic rigor and professional development opportunities. Anderson has already interned at a legal office and Shell Oil and Gas Company and will intern with Nike this upcoming summer.
