FAMU’s Finest: Nahaliel Levasseur

Tamia Williams

Nahaliel Levasseur is the kind of person whose creativity shows up before he ever says a word. A fourth-year business administration scholar from Orlando, Florida, Levasseur expresses himself through fashion, faith and the way he carries himself each day.

For him, personal style is not just about clothing. It is about intention, identity and moving with purpose grounded in his relationship with God. His love for fashion and creativity has always been intertwined with his faith.

Originally, Levasseur planned to become an engineer. That changed during the COVID-19 pandemic when he began taking dual enrollment courses at his local community college. His first business class shifted everything. For the first time, he enjoyed doing homework and looked forward to class. After further research, he realized business aligned with who he was at his core. As someone who is naturally people-oriented, business offered him space to connect, communicate and collaborate.

His interests in fashion and photography have strengthened his strategic thinking. Levasseur approaches outfits and photos by studying details and understanding what each choice communicates. He applies that same mindset to business, where messaging, presentation and innovation matter.

Levasseur began modeling toward the end of his freshman year, and joining UPROAR Modeling Team  became a turning point. He entered college shy and reserved, but modeling forced him into visibility. Being in the spotlight helped him gain confidence, step out of his comfort zone and build lasting relationships. The network he developed through UPROAR continues to support him today.

Many are surprised to learn how thoughtful and caring he is. Levasseur describes himself as selfless, often putting others before himself, a quality he believes is rare and misunderstood, especially as a man.

Love, for Levasseur, is deeply rooted in faith. As a God-fearing man, he believes love cannot exist without God. In this season of his life, love means trust and alignment. Shared values, emotional maturity and equal effort matter more than anything else. He is drawn to people with a strong sense of humor, consistency, and confidence that is grounded rather than arrogant.

His dream date reflects that same intention. It begins with church on Sunday, followed by a brunch picnic at the park, a new shared experience like a helicopter tour or aquarium visit, and ends with a quiet walk under the stars.

After FAMU, Levasseur hopes to merge creativity and business by building brands through marketing. His dream date reflects that same intention.
