At the September 19th meeting of the Florida A&M 46th Student Senate it was announced that the Campus Activities Board’s account would be placed on hold for 10 days pending an investigation.
CAB chair Jameison Walker was summoned to the Senate Meeting by Senate President Brandon Johnson after information surrounding illegal spending was brought to the Senate’s attention.
At the meeting Walker stated that he and William Clemm , the CAB advisor, made a decision to spend a portion of allocated funds on an event taking place in the Spring semester even though the board had not yet met quorum.
According to Walker though the board had not met quorum a 2/3 majority vote is not necessary process to spend allocated funds.
Walker could not be reached for further comment on his thoughts about the investigation
The hold on the CAB account expired on Thursday September 29th with the close of the investigation.
“After investigation, it was found that there is not written rule that they have to have a 2/3 vote to allocate their funds. Therefore, no further action needed to take place,” said Johnson.
