Kaylin Jean-Louis believes love should be intentional.
A fourth-year broadcast journalism student from Tallahassee, Kaylin approaches both life and relationships with openness and optimism. She describes herself as someone who sees love as beautiful when two people are willing to nurture it, communicate, and grow together. Through her experiences, she has learned the importance of balance, making sure she cares for her partner while still protecting her own peace and identity.
“I love making people feel seen and valued,” she shares, but growth has taught her that self-care must exist within love, not outside of it.
Kaylin calls herself an introverted extrovert. She thrives in the company of friends, family, and collaborative spaces, yet she values quiet moments just as much. After long days of classes and productions, she resets with simple comforts like watching television, doing her hair, or taking time to meditate in peace.
Her true passion lies in using her voice to create impact. As a broadcast journalism major, Kaylin is driven to tell stories that represent overlooked communities and speak for those who often go unheard. Whether through projects, reporting, or production work, she strives to ensure that someone, somewhere, feels seen.
Kaylin credits her mother as her greatest inspiration. Watching her model resilience, creativity, and ambition has shaped the woman she is becoming. From encouraging her academic journey to supporting her nonprofit efforts and media goals, her mother’s influence remains a guiding force.
Being named one of FAMU’s Finest is something Kaylin accepts with gratitude. Though she does not seek the spotlight, she embraces the recognition as a reminder of how far she has come. In this season of her life, she is humbled, proud, and ready to continue using her platform with purpose.
