Once in a while, we encounter individuals whose lives embody the essence of persistence in pursuit of their dreams. Joshua Suiter, without a doubt, is one of them. What started as a student at a summer acting camp has now led to his television debut role as “Elijah Greene” on Hulu’s new hit series, “All’s Fair.”
Durham, North Carolina native, Joshua Suiter got his first taste of performing at the age of 6, by attending a summer camp at North Carolina Central University. Throughout his childhood, he remained active in sports, such as track & field, but performing was always calling his name. Suiter did not start publicly singing until he was 16, because of his stage fright with singing, not acting. His stage fright with singing prevented him from auditioning for “The Wiz” at Jordan High School. Once the play premiered, Suiter felt “a fire ignite in himself,” and realized he should have been on the stage performing as well. Joshua transferred to Hillside High School and eventually landed the role of the Tin Man for “The Wiz.” Suiter recalls leaving rehearsals and saying to his dad, in the car on the way home, that, “God spoke to me plain and simple. This is your purpose, this is your calling.”
In 2018, Suiter attended North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. Suiter said that “God spoke to him, saying that he would be going to A&T for college,” and ever since then, Suiter has been able to build community and sharpen his craft. Joshua Suiter thrived at A&T and was the 2019-2020 Mister Sophomore, a Spring 2020 initiate of the Beta Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, and the 2021-2022 Mister North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. He obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Professional Theatre (Acting).

Post-graduation, Suiter mentions that it was just a lot of transitioning. He gained an internship immediately after graduation with a theatre company, where he was able to perform in a show and also work as a technician in another show. These shows helped Suiter grow as a performer and strengthen his talents. Suiter was transparent about suffering from post-grad depression for the first two years. The reality of being a heavily involved student to just being stuck in the stillness was not easy to process, but his faith did not waver.
Suiter did about two years’ worth of auditions before getting his debut role in All’s Fair.
He recalls being at work when he received a call from his manager, who expressed that he had booked the role for Elijah, which transitioned him from theatre to television. All’s Fair is a legal dramedy that premiered on November 4, 2025, produced by Ryan Murphy, starring Kim Kardashian, Niecy Nash, Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson, Glenn Close and Teyana Taylor.
To capture his voice as clearly as his talent, we asked Joshua a series of questions.
How is it working with actors who have been in the game for decades? What have you learned from your peers on the set of All’s Fair specifically?
“All my scenes are with Niecy. She went out of her way to pour knowledge and wisdom into us. A maternal instinct, so she treats me like her baby on set, and she makes sure that we’re good at all times. She said on set one time, while we were holding, as they were switching the cameras around during the scene, ‘I’m going to give you all 30 minutes.’ I want all 3 of y’all to come up with a question, and when we get some more time in between these takes, I need y’all to be ready to ask them, because while y’all are on set with me, y’all are gonna learn.” “And she held it true that same day, probably within the hour.”
All’s fair has literally just been renewed for a season 2; what does that mean for you?
“Only time will tell, but God willing, we have an amazing season 2, and, you know, you get to see more of the Greenes, and the triplets, and…kind of continue to just… go on this rollercoaster ride that is All’s Fair.”

What inspired your most recent song release, Slow Dancin?
“At that time, I was just creating, just trying to get… I want to say music, as a song would pop in my head, and so I’ll record it as a voice note with me humming it and beatboxing, then I’ll go and flesh it out in Logic.
Is there a stereotype you would like to break for upcoming actors?
“A reason for what I… am a part of what I’m called to is… because I am a Christian. Being an example of, you’re able to make it, without having to bend your will and morals, but people feel like it’s supposed to be the standard.”
Would you consider this your “breakout role?”
“I would say, what I would call this, I would call this the beginning, and I would call it the introduction, and it has levels to it. I’m glad you said that, because there are multiple breakout roles, I realize at the time. It’s not just one, but it’s multiple. There is the big one where you realize nothing was really the same. But there are multiple breakout roles in an actor’s career. I would like to title this one ‘The Beginning’… The beginning. The introduction. To the industry. To the world. That’s what I feel like Elijah Greene is. I feel like Elijah Greene is my kick in the door. Now that my foot’s in the door, it’s time to get to work.”
